Titans Rout Jets, 38-13

The Jets were 2-1 coming into Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans. This was their chance to start 3-1 before starting this grueling October stretch which is the toughest in the league. On the Jets second play Geno Smith threw an interception that was intended for Stephen Hill and it was intercepted and returned back to the Jets 20 which resulted in a Titans touchdown. All four of Geno Smith's turnovers were turned into 28 Tennessee points.

The Jets contained Chris Johnson as he rushed for 21 yards on 15 carries. Jake Locker was a different story. Locker was 18-24 for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Jets were in their base package for most of the game because they were worried about Chris Johnson, but Locker made them pay by continuously making smart decisions and getting rid of the ball fast. He was carted off of the field early in the third quarter after a combination of hits from Wilkerson and Coples.

This was by far Geno's worst game of his career with 2 lost fumbles and 2 interceptions. He tried to force the ball too many times and the ball got away from him. It also didn't help that the offensive line was not the same as they were last week surrendering 5 sacks.

The Jets are on the road again next Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons. If the Jets want to be in the playoff contention they have to start 3-2 with the Patriot game after that. It will be a tough game for Geno but he will have a new RB in the backfield. Mike Goodson is returning from his 4 game suspension for substance abuse. It will be his first game as a Jet and look for him to add a new dimension for this offense as he has game breaking speed. Chris Ivory might also be back a long with Dee Milliner as they look to come back from their hamstring injuries.
